Patchwork Cot Blanket | A Nursery Essentials!
![]() ![]() | HistoryIn the ancient time, when most of the families are poor in China, whenever a family is expecting a new baby, the family would go around the village and asked for some unused cloth from other families, to be sawn into clothes or blankets, for their new born baby. They believed that the baby who wore the patchwork clothes and use the patchwork blanket will be blessed by all those families, and grew up healthily. About UsWell, my boys are sure the lucky ones. They were born with lotsa blessing. Both of them have their own patchwork blanket, specially handmade by my mom, who is 63y now. My boys love them very much. Everyday must hug their blankets to sleep, be it warm or cool. Because the patchwork blanket were sewn with selected breathable materials and a 100% light cotton reverse, they won't feel too hot to be covered with the blankets when the weather is warm, and it will keep them warm when the weather is cool.
I like the patchwork blankets very much. I like'em to be colorful and not too warm when one is covered. Unlike those blankets that we normally find in the commercial market, most of them are synthetic fleece, flannel or towel blanket, which looks pretty but may not be so suitable to be used in a hot country, like Malaysia, without air-cond. Some tends to form ugly little knots or pills in the wash after some times, and some even worse with linting, which we wouldn't want our babies to breath in. I hope all babies can have a comfortable personal blanket like my sons do! |
